Martha received her B.A. in Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and her Ph.D. from Purdue University. Martha regularly teaches Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Social Psychology, Theories of Personality, Ecopsychology, and Environmental Psychology. Martha has led student trips to Austria, Northern Italy, and Nepal. She and her husband, Shawn, and their son, Grayson, enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, playing and listening to music, reading, and gardening.

Bob received his B.A. in Psychology from Duke University (1987) and his Ph.D. in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florida (1992). Bob joined the WWC faculty in 1998 and regularly teaches Introduction to Psychology, Adolescent Development, Research Methods, Health Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Theories & Techniques of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and Sport Psychology. Bob has led three Warren Wilson Worldwide Courses � two to Costa Rica and one to Greece. He and his wife, Christine, Spanish professor at WWC, have three children � twins, Julien and Sofia, and younger brother Nolan. Bob enjoys hiking, racquet sports, literary fiction, movies, and music. In 2005-2006, Bob conducted sabbatical research at CooperRiis Healing Farm. Website

Vicki Garlock received her Sc.B. in Psychology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. After taking a few years off to work, she returned to graduate school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her Ph.D. in 1997. Her research specialties are in physiological psychology, cognitive development, and the development of language and reading skills. She regularly teaches Introduction to Psychology, Drugs and Behavior, Infant and Child Development, Learning & Conditioning, Cognition, Sensation & Perception, and Biopsychology. Her teaching interests include: service-learning, the use of technology in the classroom, and the incorporation of cross-cultural perspectives. Vicki and her husband, Vic, enjoy traveling and working out, but most of their spare time is spent with their children, Aurelia and Atticus..

Kathryn Burleson earned her B.S. in psychology from Appalachian State University followed by her M.A. in psychology from Humboldt State University in Arcata California, and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her dissertation in developmental psychology explored students� self-growth during a transition to a school for the arts. She joined the WWC faculty in 2006 after teaching in Colorado for 2 years. Her current interests include using Service Learning as a teaching strategy and learning how children develop within various cultural contexts. She enjoys teaching Introduction to Psychology, Cultural Psychology, Infant, Child, Adolescent, and Adult Development and Aging. During free time she is likely outside, doing yoga, or listening to live music with her husband, Brad.
