12.13.2008
Good luck with the next week and have a great Winter Break. The lab will close Friday, Dec. 19th and re-open Monday, Jan. 19th! 12.10.2008 Winter break is fast approaching, but if you've got a bit of time remember that tonight is a Psych club movie night! We'll be showing Memento at 6:30 in Jensen 202. Bring your own cup if you can; snacks and drinks will be provided! 11.19.2008 As Thanksgiving Break approaches, we've been looking for a good time to have a Psychology Club meeting before this semester is over. We've finally settled on it and will be showing Memento on Wednesday, Dec. 10th. Check out the Psychology Club page or the bulletin board on the first floor of Jensen for more details! 10.28.2008 Term II has brought a change in schedule for the psychology lab -- we now have weekend hours. The lab will be open Saturday morning (8:30-12) and for an hour Sunday afternoons (1-2). Check out the updated psychology lab page for more details. 10.15.2008 It's almost time for Fall Break :) Hope y'all have a great and stress-free week off! 10.09.2008 The psychology department was thrilled to welcome Oliver Sacks (author of An Anthropologist on Mars, The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, and most recently Musicophilia, among other books) to the Garden Cabin last Thursday. Learn more. 10.07.2008 Some new content added today; take a look around! 10.03.2008 We re-ordered the navigation a bit and changed a couple of the pages to get things organized a bit better. This unfortunately means that now three of our pages don't have their header graphics up. Don't worry; they'll be added soon. We've also added some content/updated a few pages. 10.01.2008 The Spring Courses page is now live and linked on the sidebar! Take a look at what classes we are offering next semester and when they'll be meeting. 09.26.2008 These past couple of days we've been going through the website and organizing everything. We've got standardized headers now, instead of having the blue ones just on a few pages. We've been going through content and links and making sure everything is updated -- if you find anything out of the ordinary (e.g. a broken link) or have a suggestion, please let the psych crew know! 09.23.2008 First psychology club meeting of the year tonight at 6:30 in Jensen 202! We're watching Fight Club and having fresh-baked cookies and cake. :) Be sure to keep an eye out here and around campus for information on our next events! |

Psychology courses at Warren Wilson provide an opportunity to explore human behavior and mental processes from a variety of theoretical, philosophical, and empirical perspectives. Courses provide our majors with excellent preparation for post-graduate employment and/or graduate study. In addition, professors use a variety of experiential learning techniques (e.g., role-playing, service-learning, data collection, virtual rats, field trips) to help students connect theory with practice. The major is designed so that students can complete most of their coursework during the first three years, providing ample time for upper-level experiences (e.g., internships, independent study, independent research) that match students' particular areas of interest.
