THAI DANCING

Thai woman khantoke dancer

During my first visit to Thailand, I was invited to the home of Dr. John Butt and Mrs. artha Butt of Payap University. While at their home, we experienced a traditional life-prolonging ceremony with a local shaman, ate a northern Thai meal, and were entertained by dancers and musicians from Payap University. During my second experience in Thailand, our group when to a Khantoke ceremony on New Year's Eve and experienced traditional Thai dance and music while we ate on the floor. At the end of the evening, we lighted large lanterns and boosted them into the night sky along with wishes for a new year.
