Resident Assistants (RAs) are an integral part of the Warren Wilson College student life program. Their primary responsibility is to act as a facilitator for the residence hall community and to enhance the development of students as individuals and as members of that community. The RAs responsibility is to help create a residence hall environment that supports learning, openness, tolerance, respect, and individual responsibility. The RA articulates for students the philosophy and policies of the college. RAs act as a role model and reference for students. The RA supports the mission of Warren Wilson College by assisting students in developing their personal, academic, and work skills. The RA reports directly to a Resident Director (RD).

Resident Directors (RDs) are an integral part of the Warren Wilson College student life program. Their primary responsibility is to supervise their Resident Assistant(s) (RA) and to enhance the development of students as individuals and as members of that community. It is the responsibility of the RD to help create a residence hall environment that supports learning, openness, respect, and individual responsibility. The RD articulates for students the philosophy and policies of the college. RDs represent the college and act as a role model and reference for students while developing a community that is conducive to living and learning. The RD supports the mission of Warren Wilson College by assisting students in developing their personal, academic, and work skills. The RD reports directly to an Area Coordinator (AC).
