A Few Important Definitions

Coercion:

Using emotional or verbal force to obtain compliance.

Examples:

"I'm really good in bed, you know you would enjoy it."

"You're such a tease.  Why did you flirt with me if you didn't want it."

'Don't you love me?  This is how you can show you love me."

"I know you've slept with five other people.  Why wouldn't you sleep with me?"

Intimidation:

Using verbal threats, gestures, breaking objects, or hurting animals to scare someone into doing something.

Examples of verbal intimidation:

"If you don't have sex with me, I am going to tell your parents you are gay."

"Don't make me hit you."
