The final Room in the Inn session for this school year will be from April 10th to April 17th. If you would like to get on the email list, please email us at rise@warren-wilson.edu
This year's Take Back the Night will occur on April 12th. Leading up to Take Back the Night, we will have a series of events to "Take Back the Week." Please see below for the shedule of events.
Thursday and Friday from 11:00-1:00 in front of Gladfelter, we will have t-shirt, patch, and cape making.
Friday at 5:30 in front of Gladfelter will be Bike Back the Night. If you have a bike and a little money, come out and join in a community bike ride to the Dog House and Dairy Bar for some tasty treats.
Sunday there will be a workshop focused on the theme "What's Your Treasure?" in the EMPOWER center (Time TBA). At 8:00 on the Cowpie lawn come and Hike Back the Night to reclaim our trails.
Monday at 7:00 come to the Vining C kitchen to help Bake Back the Night, baking cakes for Tuesday's cake walk.
Tuesday at 12:45 be in front of Gladfelter for our third annual Take Back the Cake cake walk (it's free to enter and the cake is fantastic!).
Finally, TAKE BACK THE NIGHT
7:30 Meet in the Ballfield courtyard for the march.
7:30-8:15 march up to Sage Circle for a "Burn Away the Bad" activity, walk over to the Schafer couryard for skits from our wonderful RISE Advocates, have a community dance party in front of Vining.
8:15 the march will conclude at the Pavilion for a community speak out. Everyone is welcome to share their experiences and reflections.
After the speak out there will be a flying lantern release with messages of hope and there will be safe spaces for people to go and talk.
Safe Spaces:

EMPOWER Center: Queer circle.
Awkward Town Open Mic: A chance to share stories about those trully awkward moments during sexual encounters or in relationships. This event usually happens twice a year.
Clothesline Project: This event happens once a year in the fall. The Clothesline Project happens all over the world. It is a diplay of tshirts made by people who have experienced violence or people who have felt the impact of violence. There will also be opportunities leading up to the display for current students, staff, and faculty to make tshirts on which they share their own stories, statements of hope, and statements of support.
Trans Awareness Week: A week folcused on trans issues.
Take Back the Night: An international movement aimed at raising awareness about sexual violence.
Squeaky Clean Flying Dreams: A Zine on Self Care and Creative Healing
Poly Amour, a zine on polyamorous relationships but relavent to all realtionships.
Transwho: an amazing zine documenting the experiences of people in the WWC community.
