The Youth and Education issue area is geared towards working with tutoring and mentoring programs for K-12. Students are able to bond and work closely with children from selected schools and youth programs in the Asheville/Buncombe area.

Weekly Service

We offer a variety of on and off campus opportunities to work with youth weekly. These include, but are not limited to, Big Brothers Big Sisters programs on Campus and at the Burton Street Community Center. We have the chance to work on strong mentoring relationships through year-long commitments, and we also offer serveral one time trips. Signing up to our Interest List will keep you informed of upcoming one-time opportunities, to do so please email our communications and  logistics coordinator at sscott.f12@warren-wilson.edu

BOWL FOR KIDS SAKE

Bowl for Kids Sake is a fundraiser to help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC programs, such as Kids on Campus and Burton Street, which we run through our office. Each team member is asked to raise $50! We will be going to Starlanes in Asheville on March 1st, and dressing up like superheroes! Any amount you can donate will help towards our goal! If you'd like to join our team or find out about creating your own with 3+ people email  Patrick at patdowning.f12@warren-wilson.edu!

Educational Events

Through our service office,  the Youth and Education issue area will be hosting a series of educational events. By attending three of these events and participating in a Y & E weekly, students will work to complete their PEG2. Stay tuned to find out dates and times of these events!
