In one to two pages, summarize the argument made by Michael Taussig in his article The Genesis of Capitalism Among a South American Peasantry: Devil's Labor and the Baptism of Money. Note that this article is pitched at a more advanced--in terms of vocabulary and sophistication--than the other readings in this class. You may find it difficult and frustrating. However, I expect you to make an effort to understand what he is saying. The use of words like "boring" and "dry" to express your frustration reflect more on your effort than on the author's argument.
