Living spiritually at Warren Wilson takes many forms. You may find your way in meditation at -be- (the Buddhist group) or a Taize candlelit prayer service, inside the conversation and music of a Shabbat dinner, walking silently down a forest trail, or dancing and drumming at a Full Moon celebration. Our spiritual practices, our faith traditions, and our religious identities (if we identify with any religion, that is) affect our worldviews and how we live our lives. Through spiritual life opportunities, students are invited to learn and grow throughout their undergraduate years here at school.
Spiritual Life events and programming offer us the chance to explore this part of ourselves, through study, dialogue, community, and celebration. We believe in sharing our stories and traditions with each other, connecting to groups and organizations outside the Wilson bubble, integrating spirituality and religion with the "real world" by engaging in social justice and environmental preservation, and seeking peace and wholeness.
Many student groups are affiliated with religious traditions but are open to all, and offer everything from meditation to Bible study. Ongoing programs include special events and services such as worship in the style of the Taize community and Coexist - a community for interfaith learning and dialogue. We're open to supporting students, wherever you are on your spiritual journey - if you have any requests, comments, or suggestions, please tell us via e-mail or come on over to our office and talk to us!
