Before You Go

Study abroad can be a meaningful and life-changing experience. You will also face challenges as you adjust to a new culture. Careful preparation before you leave can help ensure a successful study abroad experience.

Learn as much as you can about the culture, language, history, politics, geography, and current events of your host country before you go. The International Programs Office maintains lists of country-specific resources available at the Warren Wilson library.

All students studying abroad through Warren Wilson are required to participate in a pre-departure orientation hosted by the International Programs Office. These students are also required to communicate periodically with International Programs staff while abroad.

Please remember that the Counseling Center is always available to Warren Wilson students. You are welcome to contact counselors by phone or e-mail while abroad.
