I have been in the health and wellness field for over 25-years; it is my passion and, occasionally my nemesis. I am thankfully a product of Title Nine, as it was passed after my 9th grade year of high school. I felt as though high school athletics were my salvation. Life was confusing as a child interested in sports beyond ballet, but limited to boys. I remember the first day of basketball practice bringing so much joy, that I thought I might explode. My interest in athletics, Math and Science prepared me to pursue a Master’s in the relatively new fields, Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology. In my professional career I’ve worked with cardiopulmonary rehab programs, taught college-level courses, directed hospital-based wellness centers, and owned my own Personal Training company. In 2008 I discovered Warren Wilson College. WWC’s community offers a challenging academic curriculum, introduction to a strong work ethic, an emphasis on serving our community, and the freedom to explore. I am fortunate to call this beautiful campus/community my home.
