My Story

I am broadly interested in connections between agriculture, environment, and society, and in the development of ecologically and economically sound food production systems. I use a diversity of methodological tools including field-based research, controlled greenhouse studies, and qualitative and participatory approaches. For my PhD research I studied cover crops in Wisconsin and crop genetic resources in rural China. Previously I owned and operated a CSA farm business outside Providence RI, and in my last position I managed a campus farm and research station at a college in Maine.
