Can your gift to the College be matched?

Thousands of employers participate in gift-matching programs that can double or triple the impact of gifts to Warren Wilson. These programs match charitable contributions by current employees, and some match gifts made by retirees and spouses. Search for your company online to see if your employer offers a gift-matching program for the College. Your gifts provide support for scholarships, the work program, and many campus initiatives. In the end, your generosity will have a lasting impact on our students, our community, and our world for generations to come. Info: give@warren-wilson.edu or (828) 771-2088. Thank you for your support of Warren Wilson.

Writing Center helps Buncombe County Literacy Council

Four Warren Wilson students teamed up with five advanced ESOL Literacy Council students to initiate a new program. Together they are embarking on a journey in writing. Under the direction of Writing Center Coordinator Julie Wilson, Warren Wilson students help ESOL students build skills and get comfortable with the writing process. The four Warren Wilson students are enrolled in “teaching writing in communities,” a College course that addresses how to introduce writing to adults and children and investigates the politics and attitudes surrounding literacy such as race, income levels and testing. As writing coaches, the students will practice their classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
