Please remember when searching for outside scholarships never to apply for a scholarship that requires you to pay an application fee. There are absolutely no circumstances that should require you to release your social security or credit card numbers.

North Carolina residents may reference College Foundation of NC's website for helpful information about applying for college, financial aid, and merit-based scholarship.

Western North Carolina residents may reference the Community Foundation of WNC's website for additional scholarships.

Got a Spine Scholarship $500 (Criteria: GPA of 2.5 or greater, essay required).  Deadline June 2, 2014.

CurielandRunion Scholarship $1000  (Criteria: 3.0 GPA, single mother, essay). Deadline June 5, 2014.

Abbot and Fenner Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: enrolled in accredited post secondary institution, complete essay question online). Deadline June 14, 2014.

Global Lift Equipment Scholarship $500 (Criteria: Submit a short story; GPA of at least 2.50). Deadline: June 15, 2014.

Big Sun Scholarship $500 (Criteria:  Student athlete; essay).  Deadline June 20, 2014.

Lifts Parts Express Scholarship $500 (Criteria: Freshman or Sophmore in college/university; high school senior, essay; be between 16-21 years of age and US resident).  Deadline June 30, 2014.

Safe Driver Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: see site).  Deadline July 1, 2014

Brian White Academic Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: enrolled in college or university, complete essay, use social media to promote if you are a finalist). Deadline July 14, 2014.

Resume Companion Scholarship  $1000 (Criteria: Create a resume based on the life of any fictional or non-fictional character, from TV, history, literature or myth; be enrolled full time in a university). Deadline July 15, 2014.

Goedekers College Scholarship     $500 (Criteria:  Essay; 3.0 GPA or higher; enrolled in an accredited college for spring 2014).  Deadline July 31, 2014.

Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship  $5,000-10,000 (Criteria: Undergraduate students with a declared major of biology,chemistry,biochemistry, or a related life-science field; 3.0 GPA; legal US residents). Deadline August 1, 2014.

CoachUp Scholarship $2000 (Criteria: Essay, application, and one minute video). Deadline August 10,2014

Olshan Foundation Schlarship $1000 (Criteria: Undergraduate students; GPA of 2.75 or higher.  Application and essay. Deadline August 15,2014.
