Please remember when searching for outside scholarships never to apply for a scholarship that requires you to pay an application fee. There are absolutely no circumstances that should require you to release your social security or credit card numbers.

Western North Carolina residents may reference the Community Foundation of WNC's website for additional scholarships.

Frame My Future Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: Attending college or university, submit an original creative image related to the theme "This is how I want to frame my future"). Deadline March 4, 2014.
Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship $500 (Criteria: Be between the ages of 16 and 25, have a GPA of 2.5 or greater, answer an essay question). Deadline March 30, 2014.
Study Habits Scholarship $500 (Criteria: Attending a post secondary school by Fall 2014, answer an essay question). Deadline April 1, 2014.
American Business Women's Association Scholarship (Criteria: Buncombe County resident, 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, must submit 3 letters of reference, 250 word essay). Deadline April 1, 2014. Applications available in the Financial Aid Office.
SEANC Scholarship (Criteria: SEANC members or their dependents, demonstrate financial need, enrolled in 2014-2015 academic year). Deadline April 15, 2014.
General Scholarship for Higher Learning: Spring 2014 $1500 (Criteria: Must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in a two year, four year, or a graduate program). Deadline April 15, 2014
Wyzant Essay Contest $3000-10,000 (Criteria: Enrolled in college or university in fall 2014, complete an essay and promote it with social media). Deadline May 1, 2014.
Find A Law Scholarship $500 (Criteria: Attending a post secondary school by Fall 2014, answer online form and short question). Deadline May 15, 2014.
The Klingon Language Institute Kor Memorial Scholarship $500 (Criteria: graduate or undergraduate student in a field of language study). June 1, 2014.
Abbot and Fenner Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: enrolled in accredited post secondary institution, complete essay question online). Deadline June 14, 2014.
Brian White Academic Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: enrolled in college or university, complete essay, use social media to promote if you are a finalist). Deadline July 14, 2014.
Resume Companion Scholarship $1000 (Criteria: Create a resume based on the life of any fictional or non-fictional character, from TV, history, literature or myth; be enrolled full time in a university). Deadline July 15, 2014.
Goedekers College Scholarship $500 (Criteria: Essay; 3.0 GPA or higher; enrolled in an accredited college for spring 2014). Deadline July 31, 2014.
AES Scholarship $500 (Criteria:must complete essay). Deadline October 6, 2014.
