Campus Recreation
We welcome the general public to interact with our campus in a variety of contexts.
Where to Park
We have many places on campus reserved for visitors to park. Parking available to visitors on campus is marked on our Campus Map. Please refrain from using the lot north of Orr Cottage as it is reserved for Admissions Visitors.
Trail Use
Visitors can explore the River, Jones Mountain, and Dam Pasture Trails between sunrise and sunset. Dogs must remain on their leashes at all times.
Please report suspicious activity to Public Safety at (828) 230-4592. Use our bear reporting tool to report any bear sightings and their behavior on campus.
Stay on Campus
The historic St Clair Guest House is conveniently located on central campus and offers reasonable rates. Choose from homey individual rooms or family-sized apartments with full kitchens, all with the opportunity to truly be part of the campus community while you’re here for your visit.

Visiting the Farm
Campus Visitors are able to visit our working farm. It’s important to us that you remember we’re a real farm, not a petting zoo. Our animals are cute but they can also be dangerous.
Do not go in any of the pens, fields, or pastures when they have animals occupying them.
General Store
On Saturdays from 10am to 2pm the General Store is open! Stop by to get meat, eggs, and student made goods.
View our Campus Map for location and parking information.
