The College Compass Program

The College Compass is a paid program of additional support services designed to help students to make a successful transition to college or to meet the increasing demands of their college experience. The program is typically a strong fit for students with neurocomplex learning styles that may include learning disabilities, difficulties with executive functioning, or a need for social-emotional support, but who do not need the intensive daily support offered by the Learning Curve program.

Compass students practice leveraging their strengths in individual and group settings to become effective, efficient learners and community members with enhanced independence. Students enrolled in the College Compass Program seek help above and beyond the usual support available to the general student body.

Program Features

  • Weekly individual meetings with a learning support coach specialized in learning disabilities, executive functioning, and neurocomplexity
  • Access to enrollment in the College Academic Strategies course (2 credits per semester)
  • Access to enrollment in the Weekly Writing Sessions course (1 credit per semester)

  • Ongoing series of group workshops about navigating college and student success

  • Consultation during the summer on course selection and registration for the first semester of college
