My Story
It has been my dream to be a mathematics professor teaching small classes where students are engaged in their learning, and I’m grateful to be joining the Warren Wilson College community. I have earned my Ph.D. in Mathematics with a concentration in teaching college mathematics from Central Michigan University. This program is designed to develop well-prepared teachers to teach college-level mathematics and conduct independent research effectively in their areas of expertise. My objective as a teacher is to create a learning environment in the classroom and motivate my students to develop their own learning interests and critical thinking. My research falls within the field of matrices and graphs. I’m always enjoying thinking about different areas in mathematics and finding ways to connect mathematics to our life. On the other side of my life, I have three smart kids and we enjoy lots of sweet moments together.
Nancy MatarStudents at Warren Wilson always challenge me to think deeper. I’m amazed with their curiosity!
