My Story

I’m a poet, fiction writer, and scholar who feels most at home in close-knit interdisciplinary communities. I started writing poems about toilets and sewers while pursuing my MFA at the University of Mississippi before taking a critical interest in waste during my PhD at the University at Buffalo. Now, I’m fascinated by anything that might be understood as “digital waste,” from dead links to the environmental impact of global data centers to the rise of AI slop.

I’m currently a contributing writer on digital culture for the Mid Theory Collective and previously co-led the Palah Light Lab for queer and feminist new media. I’ve consulted at multiple university writing centers, and I love to work closely with students at all stages of thinking, writing, and revision.

My classes interweave literature, digital media, and social justice while welcoming multiple forms of critical and creative engagement. As an incoming professor of English and Communication, I’m excited to help build new student opportunities across departments.
