Admission Counselor and Telecounseling Manager Iman Inayat Khree-Johnson is a 2012 Warren Wilson College graduate with a degree in global studies. Before matriculating at Warren Wilson, Iman lived in New York and Los Angeles. She attended Bridges Academy, a small, private high school with a strong experiential education philosophy. This educational background is one of the reasons she chose to attend Warren Wilson.
As a Warren Wilson student, her work experiences included the Admission Crew, Landscaping Crew and Work Program Crew. Some of her fond memories as a student include going on adventure walks after major snows, participating in a construction project during a service trip, presenting her senior thesis, studying abroad in Ghana, spinning pottery early in the morning and going to Sunday brunches in Asheville.
Favorite Places: New York City; Cinco Ceibas, Costa Rica; Juno, Alaska; Kumasi and Cape Coast, Ghana; Gabarone and Okavango Delta, Botswana; London.
Oddest Eats: Mopane worms, which are caterpillars that make popular dishes in Botswana and other parts of southern Africa.
