Jim Proctor majored in Multicultural Studies with a focus on Education and Asia. He minored in Art and graduated in 1980. He has served two terms as the Mayor of Lake Lure, North Carolina. While here, he traveled to India and performed service work in Nepal. He also spent three years on Student Caucus. After graduating, he spent years serving on numerous boards to address issues ranging from tourism and zoning to narcotics abuse. In addition to being Mayor, Jim is also a partner in a Lake Lure-based real estate company.
