International Photo Contest

Every fall, WWC students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit photographs from their travels abroad. The photos are displayed anonymously, and the Warren Wilson community has a chance to vote for their favorites.

In the 2011 International Photo Contest, senior Maddy Dillon won Best Cross-Cultural Photo for her photograph of children hula hooping in Kayamandi Township in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Maddy studied in South Africa for a semester through CIEE, with support from Warren Wilson College.

Senior Samantha Capps won Best Landscape/Nature Photo for her image of an optical illusion near Paris's l'Hotel de Ville. "From any other angle, it looks like a garden, albeit with a strange topography, but from the top of a nearby deck, it becomes a globe." Samantha participated in a CIEE summer study abroad program in France with support from Warren Wilson College.
