My Story
In my first college biology course, we sampled macroinvertebrates from a local stream to quantify how invertebrate communities were impacted by a recent flooding event. That experience getting muddy and cold, but totally absorbed in the task at hand, solidified my interest in biology. Since then, my research questions have spanned organisms and habitats, but are driven by an interest in interconnectedness. I am especially interested in the interactions between pathogens (bacteria and fungi are cool!), their hosts, and their environment and enjoy working at the intersection of ecology and microbiology. At Warren Wilson, I am excited to share this fascination with students and collaborate with them in answering their own disease ecology questions.
Elizabeth GreenScience is everywhere, not just in the lab or the classroom. Warren Wilson is a place that facilitates learning through experiences and there are so many experiences to be had and connections to be made.
