Feeling Perky?

Located in the basement of Sunderland Residence Hall, the Owl’s Nest will be your go-to place for a morning pick-me-up or afternoon snack. It is also a comfortable place for hanging out with friends or studying.

The Owl’s Nest is a full service coffee shop and café built in 2012. It offers a wide variety of coffee drinks, smoothies, organic Guayaki Mate, pastries, bottled drinks, and grab ‘n’ go snacks. Bulk locally-roasted coffee, locally-crafted bagels, local apple cider, and other items are available.

Each meal plan comes with a certain amount of “Hoot Loot”; these are dollars that can be used at The Owl’s Nest. You can always add more to your student account to make payment a breeze — you’ll just tap your card. But The Owl’s Nest also accepts cash and credit cards, so you’ll never go thirsty.

National Coffee Day

On National Coffee Day(9/29), students submit their best drink recipes in a contest to win prizes and have their drinks featured on the menu for a year. Past winners have included “The Snooki”, “Gimli and Legolas”, and “The Bees Knees”.

Owls Nest Coffee

Coffee You Can Feel Good About

Walking into the Owl’s Nest never fails to deliver the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Warren Wilson partnered with Dynamite Roasting Co., based in Black Mountain, NC, to formulate a signature roast just for us, aptly called “The Night Owl Blend.” More than a catchy name though, this blend comes with the promise of organic growing practices and fair trade certification. In keeping with Dynamite’s commitment to the local economy, their coffee is only distributed within the region, which also enables them to process their product in small batches to ensure freshness and quality. Now that’s some java you can feel good about.
